The Litany of Love

If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem. - Unknown author

There's a strange phenomenon that often happens when you read an inspiring book or attend a motivational workshop. It's this: nothing changes in your life.

You may have noticed that no matter how enthusiastic you were when you finished reading a self-help book or completed a personal development workshop, within a few days your high energy waned. You... and your life... became as before. Nothing really changed. Except maybe you began to feel a little guilty or bewildered at the lack of improvement in your life.

This has happened to me too many times to count. Being a quick learner, it only took me a few years before I figured out that in order to change my life, the changes had to become habitual. A one-time effort wasn't going to do diddlywhoop.

It wasn't enough to have the knowledge. Nor was it enough to have the new life experience just once. I had to repeatedly have the life experience until it became a permanently ingrained habit. Only then would my life noticeably change.

This is especially pertinent in the area of changing thought patterns, or beliefs as they're more commonly known.

Okay. So I'd identified the problem, but now I wanted the solution.

I knew that the most effective way for me to stay on track with my intentions of changing my thought habits into new, better, more beneficial beliefs, was to do it with others of like mind.

So, wanting to be part of the solution rather than part of the problem, I took it upon myself to start a Law of Attraction Study Group.

At our weekly LOA study group meetings we discuss one chapter in the book, Ask and It Is Given by Esther and Jerry Hicks. Then we discuss the accompanying Process and our results from experiencing last week's Process.

The very first Process is entitled Rampage of Appreciation. It goes like this: whenever you're feeling an emotion or energy you don't like, you begin to raise the vibration of it to a more desirable emotion by going on a Rampage of Appreciation. You simply look around you and find things you like. Even things you like just a little bit. Then you think a thought about how you like that. And then another. And another. You keep going until you can feel that your emotion/energy has become uplifted.

There's another version of this process which I call my Litany of Love. Every morning as I wake up I begin listing all the things I love. It might go like this: "I love my purple flannel sheets. I love my warm, cozy bed. I love that picture on my wall over there. I love the smell of my essential oils. I love my cats all curled up next to me. I love that I get to go to Tai Chi tonight. I love...." well, you get the picture.

As I'm going through my Litany of Love, I can actually feel my energy growing. At some point, I'll feel a shift into joy, happiness, excitement, or some other really good-feeling emotion. At that point, I get out of bed and start my wonderful day. I've set the energy for the day to a high vibrational level.

What I've noticed after practicing the Litany of Love for several weeks is that I'm generally a happier person. And as I'm being happier, I'm attracting happier people, events, and things to me.

The Litany of Love. It's one of the many ways to enjoy the Law of Attraction in action. Try it for a week or two!
