Whenever you decide to make changes in your life be prepared for resistance. The part of you that has become comfortable with its usual habitual ways will definitely fight back against any kind of change. Change would mean having to face the unknown, which can be very frightening. Anytime you attempt to make a change, in any area of your life, you take the risk of whats on the other side. Some people give up too soon because of this fear. What a shame!
If you uncover the fear underneath, you will find that it is nothing more than just thoughts conjured up by your subconscious mind based on past negative events in your life. Once you make a choice to uncover the fear that has been laying dormant for so long, you can then face that fear and challenge what it has convinced you of all these years. The desire to make changes has to be strong enough to create the courage you need to face the fear.
Begin talking back to that resistant part of you that continues to keep you stuck in the mud. Challenge it. I call it the inner child part of you. Think of it as this little kid that has this control over you, throwing fits if it does not want to do something, kicking, screaming, getting their way. The longer you continue to allow this inner child to control the adult part of you, the longer you will remain in this mud. Learn to discipline your mind, the inner child within, so that you can achieve the things you desire in life.
The analogy I just gave might sound a bit silly but the truth is that many of the clients I have worked with have gained enormous benefits by using it on their own issues. If it works, why not?
