How to Improve Your Brain Power

Your brain is like any muscle on your body. Use it often and will stay strong and healthy. Therefore, it is essential that you keep using your brain in different ways. Below are some activities that you can engage in to keep your brain in great condition.

Try learning a new foreign language. This will strengthen the part of your brain that processes language.

Develop your inner awareness and tap into your subconscious mind to access its unlimited potential. Connect to your subconscious mind through meditation and focusing on your breath.

Exercise! Create a regimen for regular exercise. There is a strong correlation between a healthy body and healthy mind. Start with something simple, like a 20 minutes jog. Exercise also improves the amount of oxygen you supply to your brain.

Be curious about what goes on around you. Ask questions all the time. Develop an insatiable curiosity. Carry a notebook with you to jot down any questions you may have during the day. If you cannot find anyone with the answer, go online to search for the answer until you are find what you need to know.

Learn widely and look beyond your current sphere of knowledge. For example, you can watch TV or cable channels that you normally do not watch or read magazines or books that are not of the usual genre you would select.

Improve your focus. Select a task and concentrate on working on it for 20 minutes straight. Give you full attention and focus to it.

Learn something new each day. A word, a fact or tip. Flip to a random page on a book. Browse a random page on Wikipedia. As you habituate this, increase the number of things you plan to learn daily from 5 to even 10. Take this as far as you can go.

Break your routine and do things differently. Eat something you normally do not during lunch. Drive or walk a different path. Talk to someone you normally not speak to.

Do things outside your zone of comfort once in a while. If you do not like public speaking, enroll in a Toastmasters course. If you think you cannot dance, sign up for dancing lessons.

Take on a challenging project to stretch your mind. For example, you can write a computer application, build a book shelf or organize a party.

Play intellectually stimulating games like jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, trivial pursuit and chess. Play word games. Try Scrabble Boggle or crossword

Work on a difficult math problem and solve it. This will strengthen your logical mind.
