Effective Leadership Qualities

Today I want to discuss effective leadership qualities and how they can affect your business and life. I believe while some people seem to have that innate leadership quality when they were born most learn effective leadership skills as they are growing up. It could be that they are the oldest sibling and had the responsibility of looking after the younger ones or it could be that they were the only child that grew up around older people.

Responsibility has to be one of the most important leadership qualities. People need to know that you can handle certain situations without being looked over every minute. Has you assume responsibility for more and more tasks you will develop a sense of accomplishment and confidence in yourself.

Dependability is a key leadership quality in that people learn that they can count on you and that your word is your bond. Not only do you talk the talk but you walk the walk. In today's world too many people talk a good game but fail to be there when it comes crunch time.

Accountability is another must have quality to becoming an effective leader. With all the accolades also comes the failures and disappointments. You must not shy away from these. Too many people take the easy way out when something goes wrong and you will find those people making excuses or blaming others. While they are willing to take the credit when things go great. A true leader is accountable on all fronts. I find that when you step up when something may go wrong people can appreciate that fact and that you do not shy away from failure.

If you study any successful leader you will see that they possess these three qualities and surround themselves with others that do as well.
