Some modern thinkers are hung up on the decision to share the words of mortal men in like manner as believers share the Word of God. Whereas the Word of God is GOSPEL, the words of mortal men are referred to as Motivation. Some speakers and writers alike continually present the empty vessels of motivation.
There is a distinct difference between the power in the Word of God and the reactionary words of motivation. The Word of God works from the inside out. Motivation depends upon outward influences in order to make an inward impact. Motivation needs a motive; a reason for doing certain things about situations.
In most cases, the words of mortal men convey only a dull reflection of the thoughts that were projected by Prophets of God over two thousand years ago; and also within the past two thousand years, which include the teachings of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Blessed be the name of the Lord.
The words of mortal men are counterfeit when compared to the original Word given by Almighty God to Prophets in the Bible.
In many ways, motivation is like a bandage placed on a festering wound. There is need for the bandage to help heal the wound. And in order for that wound to heal, the bandage must be frequently replaced. Eventually, when the wound does heal, there is no need for the bandage any longer.
Motivation works in like manner. After a need or a cause has been duly fulfilled, the thirst for said motivation, having been quenched, is no longer present. If this motivation was all we depended upon for our everyday existence, after we have met our earthly goals we could find ourselves left with the feeling of emptiness.
But let us face the facts. The Word of the Prophets, as received from God, continue to form the basis of everything that is good in our everyday lives.
Solomon, a man of great wisdom, has bequeathed to all generations the knowledge which forms the tenets of what is good and acceptable in the sight of God. His words, found in the Book of Proverbs, do not simply act as a bandage in times of crisis, but they also serve as a rudder against the stormy seas of life. And they certainly are not empty vessels.
Like it or not, we face the stormy seas of life from the moment we step out of bed. We constantly find ourselves at one point or another along life's journey. We are either going through stormy seas, about to go through stormy seas, or we have just passed through storm seas.
However, we should continue to show our gratitude to God: because the life we live is not our own. This life is loaned to us by God. And just like God gave Adam and Eve the freedom of choice, we also have the choice as to how we live our lives on a daily basis.
God gave the first couple on earth the freedom of choice, and that choice has been extended down the ages unto this very day.
My friend, you too, have been given that choice. You can choose to accept the real thing or the substitute; the imitation. You can choose to be imbued with the dogma as presented by motivational speakers and writers, or to receive the blessings of God through His Holy Word. The choice is yours. It is up to you. You pay the price you reap the reward.
Upon recognition of that receipt of the freedom of choice, which would you rather choose: real gold or fool's gold?
The answer speaks for itself, doesn't it? Choose real gold. Choose the Word of God, and pray for those who have been caught up in the flesh, and try to void the Word of God by preaching the empty vessels of motivation.
