A Journey to Self Worth

Any journey has to start at the beginning and if this is a new journey for you, one that you have never or seldom experienced before, then you have to make it an exciting and eventful one. A journey to self worth is a new beginning, you must throw away the shackles of the past and begin to feel worthy and receive all the good things that are likely to enter your life from now on.

Begin this process by looking at what has happened to you up to this point. Get yourself a pen and paper and write down all the things you can think of that have made you feel so worthless about yourself and what has stopped you from attaining the self worth that all of us have a right to. When you have finished your list and are sure you have thought of everything, scrunch it up and throw it away in the nearest garbage bin. Do this with the emotion of somebody who wants to let go.

What this will do in effect is help you let go of the past, but only if you truly want to. You should feel like a weight has been lifted from you and that you have put a definite line under the past. If this is so, then you are now ready to begin a new chapter in your life and start a journey to self worth.

Once again, take a pen and paper out and begin to now write down all the things that you feel worthy of. Do not worry if you feel your list is going to be short, I do not personally believe it needs to be. I think everyone knows deep down inside that they have a lot to be worthy and proud of. If indeed your list is short, then start your journey to self worth by focusing on what you have wrote down and as you do I am sure other things will become apparent to you that they also give you a sense of self worth.

Just look around you and I am sure there are things already within your life that give you an immense sense of self worth. Any journey to self worth begins with the family and I am sure they all love you very much. Is there anything that gives you as much satisfaction, pleasure and self worth as this. It is just something that is maybe taken for granted and the same could be said about the good friends we have. We are worth a lot to them and them to us and it is definitely worth remembering this.

We have also to be worthy of all the things that we can offer to others. The skills and talents we may possess could be worth a lot to others, but if they are not being implemented then they are worth nothing to anyone. We all have the ability to be good at something and sometimes without realising it. When we find what it is and benefit not only ourselves but others, our journey to self worth will lead to an even greater and more fulfilled path.
