Calling all empty nesters and baby boomers who are excited about living, doing, and being to "infinity and beyond"(as Buzz Lightyear would say); let me ask you some questions. What is your vision for your life? Have you thought about it? Or do you feel you have accomplished all that you want to and now is the time to take it easy?
If you are at all like me, then you enjoy learning, growing and doing. For the last 26 years I have enjoyed bringing up my boys and being involved in their activities. Now they are out on their own and I have time to think about new directions, new learning, and continually growing.
I believe that you as an empty nester have many valuable experiences that give you confidence and strength. You have a lot to share with younger people; and also with other empty nesters/baby boomers and encourage them to keep learning and growing. There is so much to do in this world; not only for you and your immediate family, but also being able to make a difference in the lives of others locally and globally.
Two huge and very important assets that will help you to be, do, and have all that you want to are health and wealth.
You need your health to keep active and fit so that your empty nester years are full of the recreation, sports, and travel that you love.
Health, like wealth, does not just happen at least not for most of us. You need to take daily steps to make sure you are eating well and consuming plenty of vegetables, fruits, and whole grains.
There is no need to be deficient in vitamins and minerals. Your body needs more than the minimum daily requirement as set out in the government's Food and Drug Allowance. Supplements are always a choice if you feel the quality of your diet is a not optimal. Being short in even trace minerals can have a devastating effect of your health. So look after yourself.
Remember your body needs regular exercise in order to remain youthful, flexible and energetic.
Do you plan to make room for sickness later or would you rather be biking, hiking, swimming or skiing with your grandchildren? I believe the choice is yours to make.
Baby boomers and empty nesters are a generation of people who are changing the way of retirement. Many are taking up new sports and starting up businesses. They are becoming entrepreneurs after having had years in a regular job or career.
Health and wealth do go hand in hand. Health makes it possible for empty nesters to stay active and enjoy lots of activities. Wealth supports those activities so you can go skiing, travelling, golfing, sailing, or whatever you choose.
Become an empty nester entrepreneur and give yourself the lifestyle you deserve. By committing to learning and growing you are helping yourself, your family, and you are creating the financial ability to make a difference in the lives of many people.
