How to Improve Your Life by Building Courage

What does courage have to do with improving your personal life? Have you ever stopped to consider that you might just be missing courage? People who have courage actually take more risks and taking risks helps improve their life.

Why, you ask? Great question! Generally this holds true because people taking risks are not caving into their fears, not being controlled by their fears. This does not mean these people do not experience fear, and sometimes have to stop and have a talk with themselves about moving through their fears.

If you read about or observe highly successful people, you will learn that these people faced their fears over and over again. Think about people like Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, Tom Cruise, Carrie Underwood, etc. Do you believe these people were fearless? Probably not - anytime these people were faced with a new challenge - courage showed up. Do you know of people in or around your life that display courage and because they do their personal lives are better, more fulfilled, more abundant?

As you begin to embrace courage, you will be able to point your life in the direction YOU want it to go as opposed to being directed by others or by your fears.

Having courage comes with responsibility, e.g., you have to own the consequences along with the rewards. A courageous person does not look for someone else to blame if things should go wrong - they own the results and this is very empowering. They are not victims of the circumstances. Courageous people never see the glass half empty - always half full. They generally have or will create a back-up plan as opposed to quitting.

Are you ready to step into your courage, your power? Are you ready for all that will change in your life? For the good! Courageous people live exciting and spontaneous lives. They appear to be more relaxed and excited about life because they are owning their lives and living life on their terms. They will turn lemons into lemonade because they focus on what did work and embrace the lessons of their mistakes.

Improving your life will require that you begin to trust in yourself. This leads to trusting in others. Surround yourself with the people you trust and who support the person you are becoming or enhancing.

When you trust yourself, you will also begin to trust your creative self and open up your creative mind. You will probably experience a flood of ideas that have been waiting to be released.

Many people do not explore the role courage plays in their life because they do not want to be uncomfortable or they have just given up on having their dream life. Being uncomfortable will become a way of life when living with courage.

Are you ready to get started developing your courageous side - ready to live your expanded and abundant life? Do you believe you can take control of your life back? Yes, you can!

Enough with the "Scarecrow" mentality, begin today by writing down areas of your life that you have put on hold because you have not had the courage to tackle them. Choose one area that you will commit to working on for the next week (or however long it might take). What is one thing you have put off doing because you think you will fail - guess what, you might BUT you might NOT. The more you are willing to put yourself out there, the more success, happiness, and fulfillment you will experience.
